To the girl that feels overwhelmed this is for you. I want you to walk away feeling encouraged and refreshed by the words spoken today!
We live in a society that never stops hustling. Seriously, like when do people sleep? But I don't think God intended for us to hustle as hard as we do! You see, often (if not always) when you are hustling you aren't focused on the one thing that truly matters. I can almost bet that you probably hustle right past the most important part of your day. And that is time with Jesus.
I know for me it is so easy to get into this pattern where when things, and tasks need to be completed. I think that time with Jesus should wait. BUT HOLD UP.. why do we think hustling before Jesus should come first? Because we have believed the lies and schemes of the devil who has take over too many times and what is his goal in life? John 10:10a says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy."
So the devil's (notice I'm not capitalizing his name because I don't want him to have power in my or your life) goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. When he can steal your sense of peace (the opposite of overwhelm) he has control over you. he is given recognition and authority in your life. he wants you to feel overwhelmed, not enough, and worthlessness, because it gives him power.
The other part of John 10:10 says, "I come that you may have life, and have it to the full." God came to give life and to give it to the full, but God didn't give you a life that is full of overwhelm, not feeling enough, or full of doubt. God came to give you a life full of joy, peace, worthiness, value, and so much more.
Why is it so easy to become overwhelmed and not full of the peace given to you by God almighty. Well, because when you aren't in His word. You don't know truth, and when you don't know truth that is when satan's lies are so easy to believe. If satan can distract you away from God's truth then he gets you into the perfect low place of believing his lies.
So I thought I would share some of my favorite Bible verses that speak against overwhelm.
This week I challenge you to take time when you feel overwhelmed to 1 or 2 of these verses.
What is your favorite verse against overwhelm?
Thanks for being here!
