To all the dreamers out there this blog post is for you and for those of you that aren’t dreamers that is okay you probably need to read this just as much as the dreamers.
I don’t know about you but I am consistently dreaming up something. Whether it is a place I someday plan to visit, a decoration that I think would be perfect in my someday home, or the business I someday plan to start. These are just a few of my common dreams and to be honest I don’t think I can list them all anywhere because a) there are WAY to many b) you would be reading this blog forever. c) some of these dreams are personal and only God can make them happen.
For a very long long time I was not okay with the dreamer that God created me to be. I consistently told myself that I would never be able to achieve the thing I wanted or afford to go to the countries that I pictured myself blogging about in my future.
But here is what I have learned.
God knows the desires of my heart! Because he placed them there. “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalms 37:4 God created you with the desires, dreams, and longings that you so badly want to happen. But here are things that can be really hard to hear. 1. sometimes our dreams are meant to be played out by the lives our children and then next generation live 2. sometimes we have to wait what feels like FOREVER for God‘s timing. I don’t know about you but that second one gets me everytime. I really want to see my dreams NOW!
(Patience is a thing that me and God are REALLY working on so far I haven’t gotten it yet!)
When I disliked that God created me to be a dreamer and gave me the freedom to dream. I had to learn that I was created to be a dreamer by someone that dreamt about me and YOU. When I hold myself back from dreaming I only cause myself hurt and I felt so burdened. So I began to write down the main things that I dreamt about. Traveling, Being a homemaker and a mother, and being an entrepreneur. So now that we have the 3 main things( you may have more.) I made a list on paper (because mental notes are NOT okay for dreamers as a dreamer you need to write it down physically.) I began to write down where I wanted to go Africa, London, Paris, etc. Next being a homemaker and mother, and finally a boss babe. I look at these lists daily and ask the question “What can I do today to start traveling, being a homemaker and mother, and business women?”
Well, for starters I can start filling out the paper work to file for my passport so I can GO. “How can I prepare to be a godly wife and mother?” I need to be in God’s word. And to start learning about being an entrepreneur I can tune into that podcast episode that I am behind on or read that article about instagram even though I read it already.
You don’t have to have all the money in the world to accomplish your dreams! Infact I think the all you need is to know that God created you to be a dreamer. He knows the desires of your heart. And He wants to give them to you as long as they fit in with His perfect and pleasing will for you! But also you have to work one day at a time to get closer to the things you so long to do and accomplish. This isn’t easy but it is SO worth it.
So to the women out there that want to be a worship leader and a momma. God put those dreams in you! Chase after them them whole-heartedly and take it day by day. Ask yourself “What can I do today to be a God honoring worship leader and a godly, financially stable momma.” I believe in you! And God knows the desires of your heart and He want to give them to you.
from one dreamer to another,
Thanks for being here!
