Hello lovely person, I actually had a blog post all about Christmas traditions but I felt God tugging on my heart to share this with you, but I am also writing to myself.
Raise your hand if you struggle with confidence. You walk into your closet which is FULL of so many cute tops and pants. But your put on that certian outfit and don’t feel beautiful. That is me.
Last night, I probably paried 5 or 6 outfits together. And still went to bed not knowing what I was going to wear this morning. Another place I really struggle with is confidence that its okay to be the REAL RAW me. That people won’t accept me for me, or that I am good enough to speak into people’s lives.
Here’s what I am learning (and let me tell you its a loooong hard process.) I don’t live for the acceptance of humans but of God and I was given that acceptance when Jesus died for me on the cross. Also being yourself is hard but often it is the most rewarding. When we share our hearts with others it often starts the process to build relationship and you never know who needs to hear what God has been speaking to your heart. Lastly I am not good enough on my own but God in me makes me good enough. Without God you and I are nothing. With God we are everything. You are loved, fearfully and wonderfully made, a child of the High King, and so much more.
What you think about and tell yourself is how you can over come this awful battle. When I begin to have negative thoughts about myself I have been trying to read one verse of scripture that says the opposite. I also pray that God would help me walk in His truth and confidence.
Our confidence shouldn’t come from the cute clothes I wear but from believing God’s truth about myself. Below are some verses about confidence.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know that full well.” Psalms 139: 14
“Instead your beauty comes from inside you. It is beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. Beauty like that doesn’t fade away. God places great value on it.” 1 Peter 3:4
“You are a chosen people, a royal preisthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare his praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
Not a verse but a beautiful quote....
“I am the daughter of a King how is not moved by the world. For my God is with me and goes before me. I do not fear because I am His.” -unknow
