Welcome to the first day of December! Can you believe it!? It’s December first. I am so excited for the things we get to talk about this month. Make sure that you subscribe to my email list for updated about Blog-mas this month.
Is it just me or is December a month that can be so overwhelming. The calendar fills with lots of fun things like Christmas parties, babysitting for people that have holiday plans, birthday parties, and finishing things before the new year. All these things can be so much fun. But for parties you have to bring a gift or a treat to share, birthday parties need a gift, and finishing up the end of the year is accomplishing and making new goals for the next year.
Well here are a few practical ways to overcoming that Holiday overwhelm.
What are the things that you really want to be doing? Is it really necessary to overwhelm yourself and blow pass this beautiful Christmas season? Christmas is a time that we should enjoy not dread. You don’t have to say “Yes” to everything or everyone. It’s okay to say “No.” But the most important thing is to slow down and enjoy time by the Christmas tree with a good book and a warm cup of your drink of choice.
2. Spend time with the people you love.
If you are anything like me the holidays is such a fun time to get caught with friends and family fills my cup. Talking about all the amazing things God has done over the year is such a fun encouraging time.
3. Make time for self care
Watch that Christmas that you have yet to watch, buy yourself that Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks (its limited), paint your nails, take a bath, curl up with a book by the lit tree. Do something that takes away the stress.
4. If you volunteer to bring something to a party bake with friends! Baking can be so much with friends and it gives you an opportunity to spend time and get that thing that you need checked off that very long to do list.
5. Don’t forget to dance to Christmas music! Dance your way through the stress and things that you need to do. As Buddy the elf says “ The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Have a daily dance party!
I hope you enjoyed these 5 practical ways to overcome holiday stress helps you! Make sure you subscribe for updates on this month's Blogmas!
