My favorite line from "The Grinch That Stole Christmas" is "Maybe Christmas he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more." You see often we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of all the things, we feel overwhelmed by what needs to get done before break or before vacation whether its finals, shopping, Christmas parties, etc. This Christmas season is more than a store, it is more than that final grade, its more than the things you want or think you need. This Christmas season is a time to remember the beautiful entering of the Savior being born fulfilling prophecies going all the way back to Genesis. Christmas is a time to spend with friends and family, and a time to reflect on the Father's love for us, and it's a time to simply love.
So how do we simply love this Christmas? Well, there are a number of ways that you can simply love. You could start by writing a letter to friends and family (yes, a hand written letter! Trust me all the cool kids are doing it) telling them why they mean so much to you. Just appreciate people in simply ways. Slow down, when your shopping in stores or standing in lines waiting to check out smile at the people around you. It shows that you notice them and that you care. In the Bible it says we are supposed to love and live like Jesus. Jesus ate with sinners, he loved the people that didn't deserve love and most of all He died for us. Jesus' love for us was so simply yet it was extravagant and it doesn't always make since. That is how our love for others should be. So this Christmas remember that Christmas is more than a store and that it is a time to simply love others.
What is one way you can simply love this Christmas?
